The Killing of Daisy Montgomery (Scene 3)

Hey Everyone! Here’s the 3rd scene I’ve written so far on this play (If you haven’t read the preceding scenes, I’d recommend catching up before reading this one). I’ve played with the idea of this being a full length play, a one act, a 10 minute play, and honestly, I’m not sure what is going to suit it best. In the meantime, I’ll just keep writing until I feel the thing is finished—then I’ll return and see what can be cut.

This round I officially started referring to Daisy’s deadname as ‘Henry’ instead of ‘Hank’, but I’m still undecided on that front. I was originally going to switch back and forth, using Hank as a nickname, but I realized it might complicate things a bit too much. And Henry feels like a nice name for the kid too.

Also, this is the first scene where it gets a little personal. Much of this show is autobiographical, but I want to reiterate that it is also fictional. These are characters I’ve created, who don’t necessarily represent the relationships in my life. This subject matter is something I know intimately though, so don’t let yourself shrink from the premise just because it’s technically fiction.

Thanks for reading, everyone. I hope you like it.

p.s. Happy Pride Month!!
