Hey y’all! I’ve been cranking away on my second draft of TKoDM, and I wanted to share my most recent two scenes!

Playwriting is strange. Sometimes you’ll feel that you’re really cooking, really making steps forward with your work. It’s really pleasant to get that feeling, especially on a second draft. It means your making progress, your writing has gotten better, and the product is better off for it. That’s how I felt writing Scene X.2 – everything felt good about that scene when I wrote it. But sometimes, you’ll spend hours on a scene, and feel worse off than your original draft. It feels like a step back, but it’s not. I just spent a few hours writing Scene X.3, and I don’t think I’ll end up keeping it. But, I did make some discoveries, some new avenues for exploration, and all that it cost me was a few hours of work on pages I don’t have to keep in the play. I spent more than that amount of time just playing on my phone today. Time is abundant, so it’s dumb to feel like it was wasted.

So, on that note, I proudly present Scene X.2, and slightly less proudly, Scene X.3. Enjoy.
