I’m trying to be better about trusting my instincts and staying in the moment as a playwright. I felt like I followed through on that aim during my last writing session (writing Office Space), but I want to be able to do more than just one person scenes, as a stream of consciousness. I tried to follow my instincts today, and created a five character scene, where at least 4 of the characters are present at all times. I’m also trying to keep the world open to me, not worry about the idea of the ‘producible’ play. If I want to have the stage filled with 15 hospital beds, then I’m going to do it. Which has been fun.
I want to keep writing this play, but I don’t know where it’s going yet. And I’m going to work hard to keep it that way. See you next time, and thanks for supporting the blog!
